The coronavirus outbreak and subsequent quarantine have turned non-cooks into overnight cooks. And we have easy recipes to thank such as the Dalgona coffee trend and even Shakey's official mojos recipe.
Now, you can add another recipe to your repertoire as McDonald's U.K. has just dropped the recipe for the Sausage McMuffin with Egg. A breakfast sandwich like a McMuffin is pretty straightforward, you say? Well, McDonald's does its breakfast sandwich in a very specific way. So, if you want your own McMuffin at home, take a look below.
To start recreating your own Sausage McMuffin with Egg, you'll need an English muffin, 75 grams of sausage meat, eggs, and American sliced cheese. The first step is, of course, to toast your muffins until golden brown. What follows is crucial, because the sausage is where most of the McMuffin's magic comes from.
According to McDonald's, grab your sausage meat and "season with a pinch of salt and pepper then shape into balls. Flatten into patty shapes and cook under a pre-heated grill for about seven minutes on each side."
After, place a metal ring in the pan and oil the inside of the ring. Pour water to cover the base of the whole pan and then bring to a boil. You'll then want to crack your eggs into the rings and cover with a lid to steam cook them for two to three minutes.
Finally, assemble by filling the English muffin with the sausage patty between the egg and a slice of cheese. And that's it.
We know what we're making for breakfast tomorrow... or for any time really. Because breakfast-for-dinner is amazing.
