Korean actor Lee Seung Gi is currently in the Philippines for the Manila leg of his Asian Tour, The Dreamer’s Dream - Chapter 2.
Before his show at the New Frontier Theater, the K-drama heartthrob participated in a press conference alongside businessman and former Ilocos Sur governor Chavit Singson, whom Seung Gi first met when he vacationed in Vigan back in March.
Enamored with the country’s sites, Seung Gi mentioned that he’s interested to shoot a TV series in Vigan and maybe even release a Filipino song. “I really think if we can create Korean shows in the Philippines, it’s gonna be awesome,” he told the press.
Seung Gi’s growing love for the Philippines doesn’t stop there! According to Singson, he’s currently in talks with the actor to develop Manila’s own Korean lifestyle hub, to be dubbed “Little Seoul.” Said to lay its foundation at Metrowalk in Pasig, he explained that the project will be a complex of “buildings and centers” where Filipino talent can further hone their skills.
That said, excited as we are, we'll have to wait a bit more since the project isn't a done deal just yet. “Mag-uumpisa pa lang. Baka abutin ‘yon ng two to three years,” shared Singson, stating that they’re still waiting on meeting with Seung Gi’s investors before inking a final contract.
Apart from his illustrious career as a singer, Seung Gi is also best known for starring in the iconic 2010 K-drama My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho. In more recent years, he’s starred in shows like Vagabond, Mouse, and The Law Cafe.
The actor memorably tied the knot last April before kicking off his Asia tour. He married Korean actress Lee Da In two years after going public with their relationship.
