Crash Landing on You’s Seo Dan (Seo Ji Hye) didn’t get the fairytale ending she had hoped for, what with the sudden loss of her love, Gu Seung Jun (Kim Jung Hyun). Plus, didn’t your heart break a little for her each time she would talk about her failed relationship with Captain Ri (Hyun Bin), which went further downhill when Yoon Se Ri (Son Ye Jin) entered the picture? *Cue tears*
Her love life didn’t pan out as expected, but it looks like in an alternate K-drama universe, things are turning out for the best! Ji Hye’s current K-drama, Dinner Mate, just posted a teaser of its upcoming episode— and, oh boy, does it remind us of CLOY!
In the photo, Ji Hye’s character, Woo Do Hee, is dressed exactly like Seo Dan in a bright printed dress and her hair's neatly clipped with her signature barrettes. The scene shows Ji Hye standing in front of her love interest, Kim Hae Kyung (Song Seung Heon) who, on the other hand, uncannily resembles the legendary Captain Ri! We’re not sure if it’s a direct reference to the show (because the similarity is just too striking to ignore!), but other netizens sure noticed it as well. One IG user even called it “Crash Landing on Dinner Mate.” LOL!
Oh, and in case you didn’t know, Kim Jung Hyun made a cameo appearance in the show—another CLOY crossover of sorts. He played Do Hee’s longtime boyfriend who eventually cheats on her, and it’s this breakup that leads her into the arms of psychiatrist Kim Hae Kyung. The two had first met on an airplane to Jeju Island but they ran into each other another time and decided to become dinner mates. A love-hate relationship then sparks!
We wonder what this CLOY-esque scene is all about and if it has anything to do with it at all (we’re hoping it does), so we’ll be waiting for the big reveal! Whatever it is, one thing’s for sure: Seo Dan’s lovelife is finally looking rosy!
