One of my biggest dreams is to get a master's degree in South Korea and I'm happy to know that I can do it soon for free! I know there are a lot of Hallyu fans who are also interested to study in the Land Of The Morning Calm, so I'm here to share a scholarship program that will allow you to make that dream come true.
What is the KOICA Scholarship Program?
With the goal to nurture leaders in countries "who can contribute to the socio-economic development of their home countries," the KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) Scholarship Program will give individuals the opportunity to pursue a master's and doctoral degree. As of writing, it offers 28 master's programs and two doctorate programs, and more courses (as well as the application guidelines for them) will be announced in March.

Which universities in South Korea are included in the KOICA Scholarship Program?
There are various schools in SoKor that the KOICA has partnered with, including the top three universities that were also featured in your fave K-dramas—Seoul National University (Gender and Development, Public Management and Public Sector Reforms, Capacity Building for SDGs); Korea University (Finance and Tax Policy), and Yonsei University (e-Government and Public Management, Health Policy and Financing Capacity Building, Gender and Rural Community Development).

What will the KOICA Scholarship Program cover?
Almost everything! This includes the airfare, accommodation, tuition fee, monthly allowance, settlement allowance, scholarship grants, and insurance. Scholars will also be given an amount of money for their extracurricular activities.

Who can apply for the KOICA Scholarship Program?
Graduates of a bachelor's degree from a recognized university can be granted a scholarship. Note that the individual must be a citizen from the 62 countries selected by KOICA. For the list of qualifications for Filipino citizens, you may view them here.

How do you apply for the KOICA Scholarship Program?
Filipino applicants must fill out the KOICA Application Form and University Application Form (along with the required documents of the preferred univ—for more info, click here). An endorsement letter from CHED and a document checklist are also needed.
When is the deadline for the KOICA Scholarship Program application?
A Filipino applicant must complete all required documents and send them to the KOICA Philippine Office on or before March 18, 2022, at 3 p.m.
