Kim Seon Ho is currently in talks to star in his first movie, and get this, he might just play a half-Filipino character!
News about the actor’s possible film debut broke last September 6 after Korean media outlets reported that Seon Ho had agreed to appear in a movie titled Sad Tropics. Quick to respond, his agency, SALT Entertainment, explained that Seon Ho is still positively reviewing the offer.
Sad Tropics centers on a wannabe boxer born to a Korean father and a Filipino mother. With his dream in tow, he flies to Korea in search for his estranged dad who had abandoned his family in the Philippines.
It’s not clear yet whether Seon Ho was offered the lead character, or if he's considering a different role altogether. Then again, others might question if he should even be playing a half-Pinoy in the first place. But one thing’s for sure, we’re definitely keeping our ears and eyes peeled for more updates on this project.
Seon Ho is currently starring alongside Shin Min Ah in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. The romantic comedy has been keeping consistent high viewership ratings in Korea, with its fourth episode averaging a nationwide rating of 8.7%.
