Netflix's new original series is a dark fantasy bewitched with complex characters. The Witcher tells the adventure-filled tale of Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill), a mutated beast-slayer for hire, as he explores a terrible world full of corrupt people. We've all seen the trailers by now (or some of you may have already started binge-watching the series!), and if there's one thing that's quite evident right off the bat, it's how Henry sports a very distinct look as Geralt. In a recent press con held here in Manila, the actor revealed what it took to look the part.
"When we eventually got me in the chair, Jacqui Rathore and Ailbhe Lemass—the girls in charge of actually making me look like Geralt—did such an incredible job that what I hadn’t done preparation-wise, or what I couldn’t do preparation-wise, was finished off in that two-hour process every morning," Henry shares. "And I’m incredibly thankful to those ladies for doing such a hard job, not just every day but every night as well."
With regards to his striking silver hair as Geralt, both Jacqui and Ailbhe made sure his tresses looked perfectly disheveled by preparing three different wigs on set. "There were three wigs, and they all went through different processes," Henry explains.
The Witcher is now streaming on Netflix.
