We talked to Kitty and she spilled the worst thing Nanno could ever do in the series.

It's official: Nanno is back. The second season of the hit Thai mystery show Girl From Nowhere is coming to Netflix on May 7! Looking through the comments section of the teaser, it seems that Filipino fans are positively buzzing with excitement.

Kitty Chicha Amatayakul stars as Nanno, the anthology series' cunning, school-hopping antihero. Although she appears as a regular teenage girl, she's actually supposed to be the devil's daughter, and is set on ruthlessly exacting retribution on the worst people in each high school she finds herself in.

Given the intriguing nature of her character, Nanno maintains a poised, unanimated demeanor. When Kitty sat down for a quick chat via Zoom in late April, this was the same air she gave off. The 27-year-old actress pretty much stayed in character for the interview, and even wore Nanno's signature hair and uniform!

In excellent English, she shared exciting tidbits about what it takes to play Nanno, the development of the character, and what's in store for the second season.

There's no denying that Nanno has a very interesting persona. First of all, she's got that iconic (and off-putting) evil laugh. Her look is distinct, and she has an entire repertoire of minor habits, (hair-twirling, stretching), that fans will instantly recognize. Kitty spilled that Nanno was actually a joint creation between her and the creative team behind Girl from Nowhere!

"At first, Nanno was just this mystery new girl. She didn't have her looks or anything yet. We worked together as a team—the directors, the writers, the acting coaches. I mean, she was created by the whole team together," she said.

"We found the perfect length for her hair. So, in Thailand, normally if you have long hair, you have to, like, tie it up. So we found the length that [is] a bit long so that you could just leave it there, without tying it up. And we found the perfect bangs!"

"And then, we started finding small parts of her characteristics and habits. Many of the things the viewers or the fans like— how I kick doors, how I laugh, or how I actually twirl my hair— just came randomly on set. It just happened and it got caught on camera, and, I mean, I don't know how it happened, too."

People in the comments section of the teaser noted that season two seemed more violent than the first. It begged the question: Will Nanno be more cruel this time around?

When asked about the worst thing Nanno could possibly have done, Kitty gave an unexpected answer. "For me, I'm not even sure— since she never hurt anyone or killed anyone at all, and only gave them options or advice, sometimes I feel like not doing anything might be the worst thing of all."

That's fitting, since Nanno often fights hypocrisy and social injustices perpetuated by teachers and students alike.

Oh, and we got to ask her if she had a story in mind if ever she was approached to write her own episode!

"There's two things on my mind right now," she said. "The first thing is, maybe we should do an online Zoom class. Or, maybe Nanno might enroll as the new girl on the production team of Girl from Nowhere season three, if Netflix approves that."

We're wondering if that's a hint at a possible third season. Fingers crossed!

Lastly, she revealed that she didn't expect the show to be such a hit. And, of course, she had a message for all the Filipino fans!

"I think on the first season, we were just doing it for fun [and] for ourselves. We didn't even expect that it would come this far. We didn't think that people would actually like the show, and like the characters and everything. So, the first time, we didn't even know what we were doing. But this time, we realized that there's a lot of love we've been getting for the series, so we feel like we shouldn't betray our viewers, our fans. So we're doing our best to surprise them and to make them feel that we're still something they might want to spend their time with again."

"Please send all my love to all my Philippine fans and viewers," she added. "Thank you so much!"
