If you've been keeping up with the more recent seasons of From, you might recognize Eugene Sampang as Roger, one of the residents of Colony House.

The Filipino-Canadian actor first appeared in Season 3 and returned for Season 4. Although Roger isn't among the show's central characters, he's part of the community trying to survive the town's increasingly disturbing mysteries.

Outside From, Eugene has built an acting career across several television productions. His credits include the Canadian comedy series Son of a Critch, in which he plays Mr. Perez, and The Trades, where he portrays Leonard.

He's also appeared in The Sinner, Sullivan's Crossing, and the 2025 mystery drama We Were Liars. So if Eugene looks familiar, there's a chance you've seen him in another series before!

Remember Trudy from the first season? The Colony House resident was played by Cynthia Jimenez-Hicks, another Filipino-Canadian actress. She appeared in four episodes of From's debut season, including the particularly memorable seventh episode, "All Good Things..."

While her time on the series was relatively brief, Cynthia has an extensive background in acting, particularly in theater. According to her official website, she grew up in Edmonton, Canada, where her parents enrolled her in traditional Filipino folk dancing and Highland dancing to help her stay connected to her heritage. She eventually graduated from the National Theatre School of Canada in Montreal and went on to work as an actress, choreographer, director, producer, and educator. One of her notable theater credits is playing Moaning Myrtle in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, both on Broadway and in the San Francisco production.

Cynthia has also appeared in television shows such as Murdoch Mysteries, Hudson & Rex, and Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent. Younger viewers might even recognize her voice as Dr. Diwa in the PAW Patrol spin-off Rubble & Crew.

Beyond acting, Cynthia has continued to embrace her Filipino heritage through the performing arts. Her official biography notes that she previously worked as a choreographer for traditional Filipino dance with Edmonton's Philippine Barangay Performing Arts Society.

Whether you've already binged all four seasons of From or have yet to start watching, keep an eye out for Roger and Trudy. It's always a pleasant surprise to discover Filipino talent in an international production—even one where practically everyone is having the worst time of their lives.

"From" is available to stream on Prime Video in the Philippines.
