Resigned Miss Universe 2025 judge Omar Harfouch has claimed that the pageant’s results were rigged.

Hours after Miss Mexico Fátima Bosch came out on top, the Lebanese-French composer and businessman denounced her coronation on Instagram, calling her a “fake winner.” As per Omar, he was able to predict the results in advance on the American HBO because “Miss Universe owner Raúl Rocha is in business with Fatima Bosch’s father.”

Omar further claimed that Raul and his son urged him to vote for Fatima because her win would be “good for business.” In the same post, he promised that more information would be revealed next year, May 2026.

Two days before the finale, Omar publicly resigned from the pageant’s international jury lineup, while accusing the Miss Universe Organization of “fraud, abuse of power, corruption, deception, breach of contract, conflict of interest, and emotional and reputational damages.” He alleged that an illegitimate vote was taken to decide the Top 30 contestants before the official judges arrived for the beauty contest.

“This vote was conducted by individuals who are not recognized members of the official judging panel,” wrote Omar on Instagram. He added that one of these voters had a personal romantic relationship with a current contestant.

While he didn’t specify names, Omar also recently published a photo of Fatima and Miss Universe owner Raul Rocha embracing. He captioned it with “Do you know who these people are?”

Netizens were divided on the photo that suggests an intimate relationship between the two. Some speculated the photo could have been “AI-generated.” In response to this, Omar posted a screenshot of him running the image through an AI tool to prove its authenticity. According to the results, the photo is “100% real or human.”

The Miss Universe Organization has yet to comment on Omar’s recent accusations. They did, however, respond to his claims after he resigned from the pageant, maintaining that no voting took place outside the official pageant.

The statement read, “The Miss Universe Organization firmly clarifies that no impromptu jury has been created, that no external group has been authorized to evaluate delegates or select finalists, and that all competition evaluations continue to follow the established, transparent, and supervised MUO protocols.”

Apart from Omar, French football manager Claude Makélélé also quit the jury ahead of the coronation event. He blamed "unforeseen personal reasons" for his decision.

He explained, "This was a difficult decision, as I hold Miss Universe in the highest regard. The platform represents empowerment, diversity, and excellence — values I have always championed throughout my career. I sincerely apologise to the organisation, the contestants, and everyone involved, and I hope to be able to contribute in the future under better circumstances."
