The universe has found its new queen in Fátima Bosch of Mexico. Besting 119 other delegates from all over the world, the beauty queen officially inherits the crown from Miss Universe 2024 Victoria Theilvig.
Fátima's victory is presently making waves across the Internet, particularly because of the controversy she was laced in during the pageant's early stages. With much noise surrounding her name, it's worth getting to know more about her. Scroll ahead for some must-know facts about the newest Miss Universe.
Who Is Fátima Bosch, Miss Universe 2025?
Fátima is Gen Z
Fátima was born on May 19, 2000 in Tabasco, Mexico, making her the first candidate to hail from that state. She is also the fourth titleholder to come from Generation Z, following 2021's Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu, 2023's Sheynnis Palacios, and 2024's Victoria Theilvig.

Fátima is diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia
During her schooling years, the beauty queen was clinically diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia, which made it difficult for her to relate to her peers. However, the setback inspired her to advocate for the neurodivergent through her time as Miss Universe Mexico.
True to her advocacy, she encouraged young girls to "believe in the power of your authenticity" during the final question-and-answer portion. "And never let anyone make you doubt about your worth because you're worth everything. And you are powerful and your voice needs to be heard," she declared.

Fátima is a fashion student
Fátima holds a degree in fashion and apparel design from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico. She pursued further studies at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan and the Lyndon Institute in Vermont, USA. Most of her designs involve discarded or recycled fabrics, which reflects her cause of sustainable fashion.

Fátima went viral for standing up to Miss Universe executive director Nawat Itsaragrisil
Prior to the grand coronation night, Fátima was at the center of controversy after a verbal altercation with Miss Universe executive director Nawat Itsaragrisil. During the sashing ceremony, she was called "dumb" by the director for allegedly not following through with an obligation for all contestants. This led Fátima to walk out of the hall, which prompted many others, including outgoing titleholder Victoria, to follow in solidarity.
In an Instagram reel, Fátima confidently said that she will not be silenced by Nawat or any officials that belittle her. “I just want to let my country know, I'm not afraid to make my voice heard," she said. "We’re in the 21st century. I’m not a doll to be made up, styled and have my clothes changed."
Following the issue, Nawat has been reprimanded by Mexican businessman and Miss Universe co-owner Raul Rocha Cantu. It was promised that his involvement in the pageant would be limited from that point on.

Fátima is the fourth Miss Universe from Mexico
With her win, Fátima brings home Mexico's fourth Miss Universe crown. The last titleholder before her was Andrea Meza, who won in 2020 and was part of the selection committee this year. This ties Mexico with the Philippines when it comes to the number of titleholders.
