Kim Seon Ho Denies Tax Evasion Allegations

On February 1, the Can This Love Be Translated? lead became the subject of allegations that a privately owned and operated entertainment company he founded was being used to lessen his tax burden. The company, established in January 2024, lists his parents as executive members.

In response, Fantagio revealed that Seon Ho has shut down the company, stating: "Kim Seon Ho acknowledged that the corporation’s structure could be misunderstood. He halted its operations, reimbursed the company for family salaries and vehicle us, and voluntarily paid the required personal income taxes."

The agency further explained that the company was not involved in his earnings from Korean dramas or films. Instead, it functioned as a separate entity focused on his theater work, adding that “it was never created with any intention of tax avoidance or tax evasion.”

The official statement from Fantagio read: "Kim Seon Ho is currently carrying out his activities under an exclusive contract signed with Fantagio in his personal capacity, and he is dutifully following all legal and tax-related procedures regarding his current contractual relationship and activities."

“We would like to make it clear that there are absolutely no issues whatsoever related to the contract or activities between Kim Seon Ho and Fantagio,” the management continued, emphasizing that the actor’s involvement with the private company had dissolved after he signed with Fantagio in 2025.

“When Kim Seon Ho transferred to Fantagio, actual business operations under this corporation ceased approximately one year ago, and the company is currently in the process of being officially dissolved in accordance with relevant laws and procedures...”

“Going forward, we will continue to strictly comply with all relevant laws and procedures in every aspect of our activities, and we will do our utmost to ensure that the actor’s career can proceed without unnecessary misunderstandings,” they concluded.
