Is Jane de Leon Appearing on the New Season of "Girl From Nowhere"?

Netflix thriller series Girl From Nowhere is getting a reboot five years after it closed with its second season. Thai-British actress Becky Armstrong is taking the lead as Nanno, originally played by Kitty Chicha Amatayakul. As the show sparks renewed interest among viewers, the rumor mill is also abuzz with speculation about the rest of its cast. Among them is Darna herself, Jane de Leon.

Videos of Jane filming action scenes in Thailand last year are currently resurfacing after Girl From Nowhere: The Reset was announced. In the clips, Jane can be seen in a blood-stained school uniform similar to what Nanno is wearing for promo photos of the show. By the end of the video, Jane speaks in Thai while thanking the crew members.

Whether Jane was shooting for GFN is still up in the air. Filipino fans, however, are fueling speculations further by pointing out that Jane and Becky are friends in real life. The two have been spotted hanging out in both the Philippines and Singapore after meeting in Thailand last 2023.

Jane also recently congratulated Becky on her Instagram stories by reposting the show’s poster. She wrote, “Proud of you love!” and tagged the actress.

Thai-British star Charlotte Austin was also said to feature in the show following the circulation of a screenshot with the series cast that included both her and Jane. The actress, most famous for appearing in girls’ love dramas, has already denied her involvement by replying to a user on X. “That’s not true, sir,” she told an excited fan who posted the now-deleted screenshot.

The first episode of Girl From Nowhere: The Reset is set to drop on March 7, 2026 on Netflix. Both the streamer and the show’s official Instagram account introduced their newest star last January 14, preparing fans to see Becky in a fresh light. “Hello, this is Nanno. It’s nice to meet you,” the post’s caption opened. “The first image of the new kid, new body, and the new universe. Forget everything you know about Becky Armstrong and prepare for a major reversal.”
