Boyfriend on Demand put the spotlight on Cebu when it filmed key scenes of episode 6 on the island's pristine beaches. Topbilled by Jisoo of Blackpink, the series transported webtoon producer Seo Mi-rae to the Visayan region to meet one of her ideal boyfriends, chaebol heir Si-woo.

Shooting at the international location required the production team to hire local talent. Among the Filipinos who were booked for the job was Candice Allison Pastor, who admits to being a die-hard fan of Jisoo. As one can imagine, it was a dream job for the freelance model and actress of 10 years.
In an exclusive interview with Preview, she opens up about the experience of filming in proximity to her favorite Korean stars.

Candice booked the job after her agent sent her a setcard to an undisclosed Netflix project planning to shoot in Cebu. "Sometimes, productions hold a go-see, but other times they just ask talent scouts and handlers to send setcards based on the qualifications they’re looking for and the scenes they need extras for. From there, someone from the client’s side chooses who they want to cast," she details their usual process.
After she was cast on Boyfriend on Demand, Candice was still unaware of the specifications of the drama."At the time, even my handler didn’t know who the lead cast was," she shares, detailing how they only discovered it was Jisoo on the actual filming day!

Along with a co-actor, Candice played a waitress serving Seo Mi-rae and Si-woo (played by Lee Soo Hyuk.) There was a language barrier that had to be overcome between the Filipino cast and the Korean production team, but it was resolved by how dedicated each team member was to getting each shot perfectly.
"One thing I really noticed about the production team was how detailed they are with every shot," Candice tells Preview. "There was a lot of trial and error, and they didn’t mind repeating shots just to see what worked best for the scene."
Of course, shooting a high-profile project required the utmost confidentiality from all parties, extras and bystanders included. "One of the resorts we shot at was exclusively reserved for the production to avoid onlookers. That was the beach date scene I was part of, and the staff reminded us not to post anything on social media yet since many of the scenes were important to the plot," Candice recalls.

It's been a decade since Candice began modeling for print and video advertisements and appearing in film projects. Even if this is only a side hustle for her, the experience has still given her some pretty valuable memories.
Before Boyfriend on Demand, she was also a body double on an American series that ventured to Cebu, and it was then that she got to work with one of her favorite actors, Dante Basco, who is known as the voice actor of Prince Zuko in Avatar: The Last Airbender. "I binge-watched [his show], and he was always my favorite character. I was a huge fan!" she gushes.
