Anne Jakrajutatip, Former Miss Universe CEO, Was Sentenced to Two Years in Prison for Fraud

Around one month ago, an arrest warrant was issued against Jakkaphong “Anne” Jakrajutatip after failing to appear for her verdict hearing in a fraud case. The Bangkok Post reported that a verdict was handed down on Friday, December 26, 2025, and it declared the former Miss Universe CEO and JKN Global Group founder as guilty. The ruling of the Bangkok South Kwaeng Court was “delivered in absentia after she failed to appear in court and remains at large.”

For the uninitiated, the criminal case was filed by Dr. Raveewat Maschamadol, who accused Anne and JKN Global Group of jointly committing fraud in 2023. “According to the court, between July 24 and August 8, 2023, the defendants deceived the plaintiff by presenting false information and concealing material facts that should have been disclosed,” wrote the Bangkok Post.

The defendants persuaded the plaintiff to invest in corporate bonds, despite knowing their severe financial difficulties and inability to repay the investment on their agreed date. As a key executive, the court found that Anne was fully aware of the situation, and still carried on with the “deception.” They obtained assets worth 30 million baht or more than 54 million pesos.

With this, the court found both defendants guilty under Sections 341 and 83 of the Thailand Criminal Code. JKN Global Group was fined 40,000 baht or approximately P75,440 as an accomplice, while Anne was sentenced to two years of imprisonment without suspension. A representative from the company appeared in court, while Anne did not. She is believed to have fled Thailand, and her location remains unconfirmed.

Anne Jakrajutatip bought the Miss Universe organization in 2022, but she has been an influential Thai media tycoon before that. Aside from being an entrepreneur, she is also known in the Southeast Asian country as a celebrity, having appeared in adaptations of reality shows Project Runway and Shark Tank. She was once named by Forbes as the “richest transwoman in Asia” and the third richest transgender in the world.
