The Miss Universe world is facing renewed scrutiny after Thai media reported that an arrest warrant has been issued for former Miss Universe Organization CEO Anne Jakrajutatip. The development comes amid a series of controversies surrounding this year’s pageant, including allegations of rigged results from a former judge and the sudden resignation of Olivia Yacé of Côte d'Ivoire as Miss Universe Africa & Oceania. Even before coronation night, tensions were high—highlighted by the heated exchange between the pageant’s executive director, Nawat Itsaragrisil, and the now-newly crowned Miss Universe, Fátima Bosch.
While this year’s edition has been far from smooth, many of the issues erupting now can be traced back to events that began years earlier.
Anne Jakrajutatip, Former Miss Universe CEO, Faces an Arrest Warrant
Anne Jakrajutatip made history when she bought the Miss Universe Organization in October 2022. However, her company, JKN Global, underwent a major reorganization of its board, and she faced mounting legal issues. In 2024, Anne sold half of her stake to Mexican tycoon Raul Rocha Cantú due to financial struggles. Fast forward to June 2025, she resigned from her own company for allegedly falsifying records, and by October, she had stepped down from the Miss Universe Organization.
On November 25, 2025, Thai media outlets reported that an arrest warrant had been issued against the former Chief Executive Officer of Miss Universe. According to Khaosod English, it comes “after she failed to appear for her verdict hearing in a fraud case involving 30 million baht,” which amounts to more than 54 million pesos.

The owner also failed to provide an explanation for her absence. The court ruled that this suggested “she intended to evade justice,” leading them to issue an arrest warrant. “The case was filed by Dr. Raweewat Maschamadol against JKN Global Group Public Company Limited (defendant 1) and Jakkaphong Jakrajutatip (defendant 2) on charges of joint fraud through false representation and concealment of facts,” Khaosod English reported. In addition, the court “ordered the full forfeiture of her bail bond, instructed the guarantor to pay the fine within 15 days, and rescheduled the verdict reading for December 26.”
Meanwhile, a report by the South China Morning Post stated that a Thai activist has accused Anne of fleeing to Mexico “to avoid her legal problems.” Khaosod English also wrote that the alleged relocation took place “with assistance from the current president of the Miss Universe Organization and key business partners,” amid rumors that Anne had converted billions of baht into cryptocurrency.
