Considering it’s the hottest reality show on the internet right now, there’s no denying that the success of Netflix’s Single’s Inferno has boosted the popularity of its handsome cast. We’re sure by now you’ve all heard about content creator Song Ji Ah, but another fan-favorite that came out of the series is model and dancer Cha Hyun Seung.

A surprise entry who only joined Single’s Inferno on its fifth episode, Hyun Seung has since caught the public’s attention for his impressively sculpted physique and prior connection to several known K-pop idols. In fact, it was his involvement with the latter that eventually convinced him to join the show.
In an Instagram post last January 10, just two days after the show’s final episode aired, Hyun Seung revealed that he initially refused to take part in the reality show. “I believed that I was just an ordinary guy so when I received a DM to appear on the show, I declined it multiple times,” he wrote in his caption. Determined to cast him, the program’s producers kept coming back to Hyun Seung until he eventually agreed to their request, and it looks like they have two specific K-pop idols to thank for his change of heart.
In the same post, Hyun Seung expressed his gratitude towards pop soloist Sunmi and BTOB member Changsub for convincing him to join the show even though he had his reservations about it. “They told me that I might meet the right person on the program,” explained Hyun Seung.
Prior to Single’s Inferno, Hyun Seung had already gotten a taste of popularity after he went viral in 2018 for being Sunmi’s dance partner at the Waterbomb Festival in Seoul. His smooth moves and muscular build attracted the curiosity of K-pop fans on social media, leading to multiple articles being written about him and his tanned and toned figure.
After the event, Hyun Seung and Sunmi remained good friends and even modeled together for fashion brand Buckaroo in 2019.

Apart from Sunmi, though, Hyun Seung has also danced backup for, and forged friendships with, various K-pop groups and idols, including Changsub’s group BTOB, GOT7, EXO, Girl’s Generation, Stray Kids, and Hallyu star Rain.
