While Angel Locsin's much-awaited return to acting with The General's Daughter has been touted with praise, she has yet to escape the biting criticism of anonymous people online. Now in the midst of a slew of malicious unwanted comments plaguing her social media accounts regarding her weight, the actress finally fired back, exuding only class and grace in the process.
In her recent appearance on Tonight with Boy Abunda, Angel promptly responded to the host's question asking if all the vitriol against her body still managed to get under her skin. Accordingly, she refuses to engage her bashers with any kind of reply.
Angel told Boy, “Kung iisipin mo, maaawa ka doon sa tao, kasi anong klaseng person ka para magawa mo ‘yon? Perfect ka? Hindi mo na lang papatulan. (If you think about it, you'll feel bad about the person because what kind of human being are you to be able to do that to another person? Are you perfect? It's better not to engage.)”
The 33-year-old actress further says that she sees no problem with her body, and how it's a shame that there are people who actively choose to spread hate towards other people. “May mga bagay kasi na hindi mo dapat gawin sa kapwa mo. Kung ang taong ito comfortable siya sa ginagawa niyang ‘yan, ayaw ko mag-deal sa mga ganu’ng klaseng tao. Kasi sad ang life niya. (There are certain things you shouldn't do to one another. If a person is comfortable with doing these things, then I don't want to deal with him because he probably lives a sad life.)"
Angel continues, "Kasi ako, wala akong problema. Bakit ikaw ang dami mong issue? Ako nga, walang issue, eh. Katawan ko ‘to, ako ‘to, sarili ko ‘to. Ikaw, okay ka ba? (Because personally I don't have a problem. Why do you have so much issues? It's my body and I'm okay with it. Are you okay with yours?)"
We have nothing but praise for Angel, who's managed all the negativity with nothing but self-love. It's exactly this positive outlook on life that keeps Angel above her haters. It's the same kind of positivity her bashers should definitely learn for themselves.
