Who Is Ahn So Hee? 10 Things You Need to Know About the Former Wonder Girls Member

Ahn So Hee was born on June 27, 1992 in Seoul, South Korea. She’s closest to her sister who’s six years older than her. She explained in a variety guesting that the two of them spent a lot of time together while their parents were working diligently when they were kids.

In South Korea, it’s become status quo for aspiring idols to start their training at an early age. So Hee was no different as she auditioned and became an official trainee at just 12 years old. She eventually debuted with Wonder Girls three years later and helped bring K-pop to global ears with their hit songs “Tell Me” and the record-breaking “Nobody.”

As the group’s maknae, So Hee won over the Korean public with her playful and youthful charm. While many Korean personalities have been dubbed the "Nation’s Little Sister" over the years, So Hee has the distinction of becoming the first K-Pop star to be given the title. 

So Hee opted not to renew her contract for Wonder Girls in 2013 so she could pursue her acting dreams. She’s since become a full-time actress whose most recent K-drama was the 2022 tear-jerker Thirty-Nine, where she played a pianist and co-starred alongside Son Ye Jin, Jeon Mi Do, and Kim Ji Hyun. 

So Hee made her big-screen debut in the 2008 film Hellcats. But if there’s one movie that solidified her claim as an actress, it’s the international zombie hit Train to Busan. She portrayed Kim Jin-hee in the film, the girlfriend of Choi Woo Shik’s character.

So Hee signed with KeyEast in 2015, the same year her dating rumors with Kim Soo Hyun surfaced. Further speculations claimed that Soo Hyun may have helped So Hee join KeyEast as he was also under the agency at the time. So Hee left the management company in 2018 to go back to her former agency BH Entertainment.

During press interviews for her role in the 2017 movie A Single Rider, So Hee shared that she isn’t “very outgoing or talkative.” Instead, one of her personal hobbies includes people watching. "People say that observing others, and seeing and feeling lots of things will help me even more in my future acting,” she told the media.

So Hee likes keeping her space clean and tidy. In a guesting for the popular Korean variety show I Live Alone, she showed off her pristine living room and neatly organized dressing room. Her drawers are even individually labeled!
