Like all fans of the Netflix show, Song Ji Ah easily captivated us with her gorgeous doll-like features on Single’s Inferno. That said, did you know that even before her rise to fame on the series, she was already getting millions of views on her Youtube channel? So if you were wondering how she does her makeup, you can just one of her vlogs!
In one of her GRWM videos, she walked us through the steps of a makeup look similar to what she wore on the show. It even had several of her beauty secrets! Scroll ahead to take notes!
How Single's Inferno's Song Ji Ah Does Her Makeup
1. She applies sunscreen even when she’s staying indoors.
Ji-a’s makeup routine starts with applying the AHC Premium EX Hydra B5 Biome Capsule Concentrate Ampoule which is perfect for her delicate and dry skin. After, she puts on the Physiogel Daily Moisture Therapy Facial Cream and the Dr. G Green Mild Up Sun Plus all over her face.
In case you’re following Ji Ah's makeup routine, feel free to change these products depending on your skin type and make sure to lightly pat in each layer of skincare thoroughly before proceeding to the next step to make sure that it’s well-absorbed by your skin. Not only will this step help your skin absorb all your skincare’s ingredients, but it will also make your makeup last longer.
2. She mixes her foundation with oil!
According to the vlogger, adding a drop of facial oil to a glowy foundation like the Clio Kill Cover Glow Foundation is the key to achieving her skin’s dewy finish. Like Ji Ah, apply your foundation evenly with a flat foundation brush and then press it in with a puff for a seamless effect! This way, you won’t have to worry about having brush strokes left on your face. After, you can proceed to spot concealing any blemish that wasn’t concealed by the foundation.
3. She mattifies her brows to make them last longer.
Ji Ah first fills in her brows with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz and then raises her eyebrow strands little by little using the TPSY Eyebrow Liner Eyelash Fixing Gel. Another tip from her is to mattify the eyebrow area before and after doing your eyebrows by lightly brushing over a translucent powder to make your eyebrow products stay on longer. If you already have full eyebrows, you can skip the second step and just fill in the sparse areas with an eyebrow pencil.
4. She combines brown and coral eyeshadows for a subtle wash of color.
The influencer mixes two neutral light brown shades from the Rom&nd Better Than Eyes Dried Buckwheat Flower palette and blends it all over her eyelids and lower lash line using a flat eyeshadow brush. This will help create natural shadows that will give your eyes more depth. Using a more precise eyeshadow brush, she proceeds to applying a coral eyeshadow on her eyelids for a pop of color.
5. She outlines her cat eye with an eyeshadow first before drawing it with a gel eyeliner.
Instead of tightlining the whole lashline, Ji Ah only draws her eyeliner from the middle and extends it upwards to create a wing following the eyeshadow shape. This will make your eyes look rounder and more natural compared to outlining your entire waterline. She also draws an outline with eyeshadow first, so she's sure that her wing looks perfect when once she applies the gel liner.
6. She applies eyeshadow on her undereyes, too.
To balance out her eye makeup, she applies a mauve brown shade eyeshadow from the previous palette on her undereyes or what Koreans usually call aegyo sal. Like Ji Ah, use a precise eyeshadow brush for this step to prevent your eyeshadow from smudging.
7. She combs her eyelashes with a spoolie before applying mascara.
Ji Ah’s three-step eyelash routine starts with curling her lashes with an eyelash curler in an upwards direction. From there, she runs a spoolie through her eyelashes to lift and separate each lash, followed by applying the Too Cool for School Tag Lazy Red Clear Fix mascara. Ji Ah prefers mascaras that are light and doesn’t let her lashes droop. Her other favorites include the Maybelline Colossal mascara, the Banila Co. Curly Studio All Day Rise Mascara, and Clio’s Kill Lash Superproof mascara.
8. She uses two blushes.
For a dimensional flush, Ji Ah applies a cream blusher with a strong glow on the center of her cheek before topping it off with a pink powder blush. Another tip we can take from her is to apply cream blush using a cushion puff instead of directly applying it on the skin for a subtler look.
9. She loves Chanel lipsticks.
We all know how much she wears Chanel, so it was no surprise that she also loves the luxury brand's makeup. In the video, she wore the Rouge Coco Bloom Lipstick in Plum 148 on her inner lip and then spreads it outwards with a lip brush to achieve the blurred lip effect. She topped it off lip gloss for a fuller-looking pout.
10. She enhances her beauty marks with makeup.
In case you haven’t noticed, Ji Ah usually has two moles on her face, one below her right eye and another on the left side of her nose. She further enhances these moles with makeup, and it does wonders for her look! If you want to try something new, follow her lead and draw faux beauty marks with the use of a liquid eyeliner. Her hack to make it look more natural? Instead of using a black eyeliner, opt for eyeliners with a red-brown color instead.
11. She only applies highlighter on the highest points of her nose.
Unlike most of us who apply their highlighters on the highest points of the face, Ji Ah only applies highlighter on the bridge and tip of her nose. Aside from that, she uses a highlighter with fine shimmers like the Clio Prism Highlighter Duo in Cream Fizz.
12. She sets her makeup with a generous amount of face mist.
Lastly, Ji Ah sprays her skin with the Aestura Atobarrier Cream Mist to further hydrate her skin and lock in her makeup. but you can use any type of mist or setting spray instead.
