For her first Preview cover in 2019, Mimiyuuuh was declared as “this generation’s unexpected role model and stylish muse.” As she graces our digital front page once again in May 2026, she proves that she still is—and will forever be—that girl.
Set in the suburbs and bathed in sunlight, Mimi donned exaggerated summerwear as she playfully ran and posed around the village’s picturesque corners. She stood out as a striking disruption in the otherwise quiet environment. For beauty, this concept was interpreted through by reworking some of Mimi’s signature elements with a different treatment.

The Beauty Direction Behind Mimiyuuuh’s May 2026 Cover
As Mimi’s go-to makeup artist, Thazzia Falek has mastered not only the contours and features of Mimi’s face, but also her commitment and work ethic. “Working with Mimiyuuuh always feels collaborative because she is someone who fully commits to the vision,” she says. “There’s a lot of trust and openness when it comes to experimenting with beauty, fashion, and character.”
Thazzia describes Mimi as “a transformative muse” who can channel whatever is asked of her—whether softness, drama, or humor—without losing authenticity. “Mimi really understands storytelling through beauty and knows how to bring a character to life through expression, posture, and energy, which makes my job as a makeup artist so inspiring.”
In comparison with the usual looks Thazzia does on Mimi, the two beauty looks for the cover story were a more cinematic or elevated approach. They required the exploration of “stronger shapes, moodier tones, and more exaggerated silhouettes, while still keeping the makeup polished and intentional.” In Thazzia’s words, “It still feels like Mimi, but in a more surreal and high-fashion world.”
Look 1
Attention was directed to the eyes for the first look. Neutral and smoky brown tones added depth, while long black feathers replaced eyeliner, heightening the bizarre, surreal feeling of the overall direction.
Thazzia also added individual lashes for a soft, believable lift, while longer strands along the lower lash line created a more doll-like effect. Faux bleached brows, luminous skin, and neutral lips balanced the structure and shape of the look.
Mimi has always been a proud dalagang Pilipina, which is why her morena skin was simply enhanced. Thazzia focused on creating a seamless and skin-like finish that still provided enough coverage. “I focused a lot on strategic highlighting and sculpting to enhance the structure of the face on camera,” she shared.

Combining these graphic and mod-like details helped achieve an “almost doll-like, but still edgy effect,” as Thazzia would describe it. Mimi’s signature bob was transformed by Gab Villegas into an asymmetrical cut that went longer and sharper in front. Adding full microbangs allowed the hairstyle to frame Mimi’s face as well.
Look 2
The second look diverted the focus towards the lips, setting a darker and moodier atmosphere. “We leaned into rich tones, glossy deep lips, and stronger contrast to give it that mysterious and slightly vintage energy.”
To have the glam and the styling work together in harmony without overpowering Mimi’s features, Thazzia enhanced a sense of softness through the skin.

With the eyes now more subtle—from neutral tones to natural lashes—Thazzia enlisted a deep plum-brown glossy lip “to add richness and drama.” She achieved the plump look by adding depth and dimension using a brown lipliner.
Gab then styled Mimi’s hair with spiky baby bangs and a retro flipped bob. Since the look was popularized in earlier decades, specifically the '60s and the '90s, it continued the concept of modernizing the past.
