The Product: Love Beauty and Planet's Majestic Glow Body Wash with Murumuru Butter and Rose
What It is
If it's a luxurious shower experience you long for, Love Beauty and Planet's Majestic Glow body wash might just be what you need to pick up the next time you do your groceries. Infused with rich Amazonian murumuru butter and handpicked Bulgarian rose oil, this body wash promises to protect against dryness, nourish skin, and "deliver an intensely feminine and refreshing ambiance in your shower."
My current body skin type has been very dry and I couldn’t emphasize it enough. It feels flaky and looks gray. I thought it was because of my previous travels since that’s when I started noticing the difference; but even after two months in Manila, my skin has still not reset. I’m looking for something highly mourishing that works well with our climate, too.
When it comes to the products I use on my body, I tend to keep it simple and straightforward. I regularly shift from body wash and body soap, but ultimately, I look for environment-friendly options that lather well and smell good. And if it easily gets rid of my deodorant, then it’s an automatic favorite.
I use a silicon body scrub from Boie since it claims to have anti-bacterial properties plus, it’s recyclable compared to the usual loofah or glove scrub. I also regularly use Ritual PH’s Lemongrass Liquid Soap. Once or twice a week, I use an exfoliator like St. Ives Apricot Scrub and any kind of clay mask I have at the moment to help with the keratosis pilaris (KP) on my arms. I found that these are the products that help lessen the bumps and smoothen the rough patches. After I shower, I moisturize with Neutrogena Body Oil or with Glossier’s Body Hero lotion. That’s pretty much it!
How I Used It
I’ve tried Love Beauty and Planet body wash before, but this is the first time I’m trying the Murumuru Butter and Rose Body Wash. I got excited when I read "majestic glow," because that’s exactly what I needed. I also got intrigued by the product because its ingredients are ethically sourced and its packaging is made of 100 percent recycled plastic. To be honest, I got a bit worried that it contains Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS), which is usually a foaming agent that may cause irritation in some users.
It’s quite easy to dispense with the flip top, though I prefer a pump because it allows me to easily estimate the amount of body wash I need. When it comes to the texture, it’s just right—not too thick or runny. It lathers pretty well (SLS!) but also rinses fast, leaving no residue. This is great because it really allows you to use less water when you shower, which is another way to help the environment. Though it did not help much with my skin condition, it did gave me a luxurious, refreshing feeling. I found the scent a little too feminine for my taste, but it didn’t really bother me in the long run. I do think though that if you're someone who likes floral scents, this body wash could definitely upgrade your shower routine.
Overall, I liked it considering that this product is something I can easily grab from the supermarket aisles. I super appreciate the fact that it lathers well and rinses fast. I would recommend this for people who want something accessible and something that basically works. Just a little extra: I hope that in the future they go for refills or other forms of containers to help lessen waste. But this product is certainly off to a good start!
