It's officially party season, which means it's finally time to go all out with your festive makeup looks! This year, why not experiment with new hues—purple, perhaps? We swear it's not as difficult to wear as it seems. Not only is it your best bet for a dramatic eye next to black, it'll make those peepers stand out in photos, too! Here's solid proof from Janine Gutierrez, who wore the prettiest purple glitter eye to a Christmas party:
Don't be intimidated by that precise shape—it's actually easy to recreate on your own. The secret? Tape!
Before you start your eye makeup, cut a short piece of scotch tape and remove a bit of the adhesive using the back of your hand. When it's ready, align the tape from the bottom of your lashline (a.k.a. where you place your winged liner) to the tail of your eyebrow. This will give you a "stencil" for your smokey eye that'll help you create that winged shape. After that, blend your desired colors on your eyelid, and then gently peel off the tape to reveal a clean cat-eye just like Janine's!
Need another excuse to do this look? Well, this kind of shape can actually lift your eyes. So if you have downturned eyes, monolids or even if you're just looking tired, consider it your makeup solution.
