On December 20, Gabbi Garcia shared a carousel of herself taking on various exercises at the gym—a space she has come to regard as a safe haven. While the visuals position the actress as undeniable fitspiration, worthy of a spot on any vision board, they were paired with a caption that was equal parts strength and vulnerability.

Gabbi Garcia Gets Candid About Her PCOS Diagnosis
Gabbi revealed that she was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) in 2018—a chronic hormonal condition with no known cure. The condition can manifest through symptoms such as hormonal imbalances and irregular menstruation, and for the past seven years, she has also navigated the weight fluctuations that come with it.
“Movement became my safe space. My release. My stress reliever. My reset,” she wrote.

She shared that it was around three years ago when she finally pushed herself to move—an act rooted in her desire “to show up for my body and take care of it instead of fighting it.” The 27-year-old also acknowledged that she gains weight easily, noting that it can be evident on television “kahit todo workout na ako.”

These are only some of the frustrations being faced by women with PCOS, which is why Gabbi emphasized that feeling strong and healthy matters more than other people’s thoughts and comments. “I’m at a point kung saan basta strong and healthy ako, okay na ako.” She finds contentment in the fact that she can run, lift, and carry herself through it all.
With this, Gabbi shared that the journey has shaped her into an advocate of body positivity, highlighting the importance of being kinder and more appreciative to our bodies, and to show up even when it’s difficult—because that’s when showing up matters most.

While PCOS manifests differently from person to person, some of its common symptoms include acne or oily skin, excessive hair on the face or body, weight gain especially around the belly, and unpredictable periods. Women are advised to consult their primary care physician or gynecologist to verify and address their condition.
