It's tough being Khaleesi.

Emilia Clarke's character on Game of Thrones, Daenerys Targaryen a.k.a Khaleesi a.k.a dragon mother, is known for fashioning her icy blonde hair into braids or letting it loose in long luscious waves. For years, Emilia sported a wig to achieve her characer's look—until the filming of the last season when she decided to go blonde herself. The choice to embrace her inner Khaleesi and dye her hair blonde came with its own risks, of course, as we all know that this requires much bleaching.

According to Teen Vogue, the actress shared with Harper's Bazaar that the dyeing process damaged her naturally brunette hair. "My hair was, like, dying! So I’ve cut it a little bit shorter. It’s almost the shortest it’s been. I’m honestly trying to grow out the blonde, because it’s just killed my hair, and I miss having nice hair! I do like the length, but I wish my hair was longer." Ahhh, don't we all just relate to Emilia? Regrets always come after the entire hair dyeing process is over. It takes a lot of guts to commit to a hair color and we have to commend her for that leap of faith!

Fast forward to February of 2019, Emilia debuted her back-to-brunette hair at the Oscars, which she wore as a sleek bob tucked behind her ears.

Now, it's almost like she's back to her 2015 haircut and color, only a little longer and layered.
