With work and stress leaving you with no choice but to pull all-nighters and keeping you from achieving a good night’s rest, waking up with a puffy face in the morning can hardly be avoided. While you can shop for creams and eye masks to easily remedy a swollen morning look, there’s actually a less expensive hack to depuff using stuff that you probably already have in your kitchen!
According to dermatologist Dr. Shereene Idris, eye creams with vitamin C, green tea, aloe, and caffeine work best to battle that puffiness—but hey, if you don’t have a cream with all those ingredients as of the moment, an alternative that you can use is a tea bag! All you have to do is to take a highly caffeinated wet tea bag, place it in the fridge for five minutes, and then press it onto your upper eye-lids for a good 10 minutes. As for the rest of your face? Dr. Shereene recommends that you repeat the same process, but with a cold spoon this time. Refrigerate for five minutes, and massage all over your face for a fresh, puff-free morning!
