Chanel Beauty Pays Tribute to Rouge Noir for Their Spring 2026 Collection

In 1994, backstage at the Chanel Autumn/Winter Ready-to-Wear show, the iconic color Rouge Noir was born. Bursting with creative and innovative energy, nail artist Heidi Morawetz mixed black and red nail polish for the runway and the rest is history.

Launched in the United States as Vamp, Rouge Noir instantly became a best-selling product and eventually reached cult classic status. It was the nail polish Madonna wore in the Take a Bow music video, and Nicole Kidman also had it painted on her fingertips when she attended the premiere of Interview with the Vampire.

Thirty years later, the iconic Rouge Noir is once again celebrated—this time, in the form of an extensive lineup of products for the Chanel Beauty Spring 2026 collection.

Created by Chanel Global Creative Makeup Partner Ammy Drammeh, the limited-edition Rouge Noir collection expands from nail polish to products for the eyes, lips, and face. In terms of color, it goes beyond the vampy red shade, exploring nuanced hues. "I see unexpected colors that lie underneath the magic Rouge Noir—pinks and magentas that sooth or electrify the looks," said Ammy.

The heart of the collection is the Rouge Noir Confidence multi-use quad with magenta, pearly rosy white, sienna red with pink shimmer, and mauve pink colors. The line also has a three-brush set—Les Pinceaux Rouge Noir. For the eyes, the products are the Ombre Essentielle duo in Gris Rose and Brun Rose, Noir Allure Mascara, and Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner in Rouge Noir and Gris Graphite.

The one complexion product is the Baume Essentiel in the shade Cute. Then, for the lips, the collection features the Rouge Allure Velvet in Rouge Noir, Irreverente, Effrontée, and Audacieuse, and Rouge Allure Laque in Rouge Noir and Ultimate. Finally, for the nails are the Le Vernis in Rouge Noir, Moderniste (neutral grey), and Performer (vibrant magenta).
