The Balenciaga City bag had and still is having a real moment. A true definition of an on-again-off-again charmer in the style scene, the metal stud-dotted purse was designed in 2000 by the label's then-creative director Nicolas Ghesquière, dangling on the bling-iced wrist of everyone from Paris Hilton to Liz Uy in the early and mid-2000s. The chicly elusive, always slouchy-cool Mary-Kate Olsen heralded its return in 2016–and now, another three years later (thanks to its newer, crazy popular graffiti-scrawled iteration), it's back and more coveted than ever. A rockstar classic, we think.
That doesn't mean it can't play demure, though. Here's Yassi Pressman showing you how to gently ease back into the City! Don casual, pristine, faultless all-white, grab the gold-studded Hip version, strap on your stiletto sandals, and flash a megawatt smile before heading out the door.
