Your favorite hair accessory is finally back on the fashion world's radar! That's right—headbands are back and are already being donned by society’s most stylish influencers. And once you've done your shopping—cover all bases and buy yourself all its fancy iterations—you're now ready to style and work them into your personal style. So, here, we put together a simple how-to guide on how you can wear a headband.

1. Wear it just like a Prada girl.

Prada’s Spring 2019 collection came at us at full throttle—bringing us all things retro in their big chunky pieces in bold and solid colors. These pieces were easy favorites during Milan Fashion Week as the models floated down the runway wearing  minimal structured pieces, completed with chunky headbands to tie up each of their looks. In true Prada fashion, the sartorial powerhouse beckons us to try their chic and sleek spin to this trend.

2. Look like a sweetheart this summer.

Summer is now in full swing and for everyone out their currently packing for their upcoming beach trips, consider bringing a few square scarves with you to spice up your ensemble. Try them on neutral-colored ensembles to see them pop or try out some print-on-print and go pile on the patterns.

How to wear: You can opt to keep the knot at the top of your head for a cutesy spin or at your nape if you're going for the retro vibe. Either way you'll look stunning for sure!

3.Be Coachella-ready!

While this festival is primarily about the music, the accompanying outfits of the festival-goers are highly noteworthy as well. Bohemian-inspired pieces are still the overarching theme, but recent generations have given their own renditions to make each outfit unique to them. Flower crowns are still en vogue, but Coachella gals are all about adding some edge to their outfits with chain accessories.

4. Make Blair Waldorf proud.

Whether you grew up adoring Cher Horowitz or Queen B (A.K.A Blair Waldorf) and their respective styles, there’s no denying that the preppy look is a classic aesthetic that isn’t going to go anywhere. On that note, if you’re anything like these icons we’ve mentioned, now is the time to bust out those school girl-esque outfits and pair them with a classic think, chunky head piece. Now you’re ready to head out of the house feeling like the powerful woman that you are!

How to wear: Get a plain or printed piece and wear it on top or behind your fringe area. Leave tendrils on each side of your ear for that extra cute and preppy look. You can try for a simple thick headband or try a cute braided one for some added detail.

5. Bling it up!

Been wanting to unleash the inner queen in you? When you've got no spare tiara lying around, perhaps you can make do by wearing a dainty bejewelled headband on your tresses to give off just the right amount of glimmer and sparkle. Wear a thin piece adorned in pearls for that sweet princess look or opt for crystals and elegant ornaments stringed together for a more opulent approach. Either way, you will undeniably look like a true fashion queen.

6. Go dainty.

The hallyu craze has been in our area for quite a while now and there no signs of it leaving just yet. K-Pop and K-Drama fans, rejoice! If K-Style is right up your speed, take notes because this style has its own spin on the headband trend. Laidback and cute are the names of the game, so stock up on pieces that plain in color and pastel in hue. If you want ones with prints, pick ones that have small monochromatic designs to not overpower your entire look. Garterized or wired pieces are more commonly used, so scour the marketplace for those!

How to wear: Add very loose and uneven curls on your hair to give a softer look, especially if your want to go more laidback. Make a loose top bun or create messy braids if you want the ultimate cutesy look. Wrap your headband around your head and 1) twist the wires twice to make a bow, or 2) loop the garterized one over your head and wear as you would normally (preferably ones with pre-attached).

8. Opt for a boho-inspired look.

Want to keep your face free from stray hairs and still look chic and laidback? Turban-inspired headbands are key to nailing this look! Choose headbands that have a knot at the top to ace the peg. They come best in velvet fabrics or printed textiles that will easily complete any outfit you have on.

How to wear: Simply slide up the headband, sweeping all the strands of your hair away from the face. Keep your tresses in mild, soft waves to get the relaxed look you're gunning for.
