Among the many sartorial trends experiencing a resurgence right now are Filipiniana-style tops. What was once traditionally considered as formal wear has since seeped into the casual ensembles of fashion girls everywhere, with the romantic butterfly sleeves undeniably taking center stage. Out of the many iterations made available to us, one design that always has us swooning is the Camisa top, which, in case you didn't know, is actually crafted by local designer Vania Romoff.

What is Vania Romoff's Camisa Top?
Two years ago, the Camisa top came about when Vania wanted to create a Filipiniana-style piece that was more accesible to the everyday Filipina. An ode to the classic patriotic garb, the top features the dreamiest butterfly sleeves resembling a decadent confection. Adding an even more dainty touch to the piece is the tied-up bow detail at the back.
The basic slew of Camisas came in plain black or cream shades, and were made of a structured silk mikado. As of late though, they've gotten more playful makeovers, having been rendered in different fabrics and various hues which range from classic beiges to statement-making pinks and greens. Some iterations also feature cutesy embellishements like pearls. FYI, the Camisa top has been so popular that Vania even released a separate capsule collection on it, which sold out online almost immediately!

For Vania, the piece's versatility is what makes it such a hot item among their patrons. "We’ve had someone wear it with ripped jeans and a bralette to a hip bar. Someone wore it to a civil wedding union at a city hall. A few women have worn it to their graduations," the designer shares with Preview. It's a testament to how versatile the Camisa is, making it a worthy fashion investment that will surely stand the test of time.
Ahead, we round up some style stars who've donned the obsession-worthy piece. If they still don't convince you to cop one for yourself, we don't know what will!
LOOK: Local Celebrities Wearing the Vania Romoff Camisa Top
1. Pia Wurtzbach
One of the first ladies who had us clamoring for a Camisa top was Pia Wurtzbach, who wore a classic version of it in white for a photoshoot. Queen P teamed the Camisa with blue denim jeans, giving her casual look a polished vibe!

2. Camille Co
Rocking a more festive version of the Camisa was Camille Co. The OG stylista opted for a black one with pearl embellishments, which she rocked with ultra-wide-legged trousers and an itty-bitty Chanel shoulder bag.

3. Anne Curtis
You can't go wrong with pink, especially if it comes in a flouncy crop top. Anne Curtis rocked her Camisa in bright fuchsia when she made a surprise appearance at an election sortie last May. So cute!

4. Ella Pangilinan
Also spotted donning the hot pink top was the adorable Ella Pangilinan. We love how she did subtle color-blocking with her teal fringe earrings and a yellow embroidered clutch.

5. Claudia Barretto
For her graduation, Claudia Barretto decided to don the dainty sleeves via a blush pink set that came with a matching drop-waist skirt. A stunning ensemble perfect for such a special day.
