As if that wasn't enough, here's one more unconventional design that's gaining popularity on Instagram: Cie Denim's upside-down shorts.

Founded in January 2017, Cie Denim is an American brand that sells inverted jean shorts featuring tiny waistbands that wrap around your thighs instead of your waist. Its founder and creative director, Kelcie Schofield, tells Insider,"The upside-down concept was designed to have the familiarity of the classic denim jean we all know and love but with a modern twist."

Apart from its intention of putting a contemporary spin on the beloved casual fabric, the brand's core is also hinged on sustainability. Their pieces are made from recycled, vintage jeans to "help reduce the massive waste left behind by the clothing industry," Kelcie adds. This probably explains the hefty price tag their denim bottoms carry, too. None of their pieces are alike because they hand-pick their vintage denim from all over New York City. That said, their products have a patent pending, too.

Now, the question is, would you cop or pass on this denim trend?
