There's nothing quite like the thrill of an ukay-ukay adventure, especially when you come across items that are so rare, so beautiful, and so cheap. It's almost like discovering a pot of gold! If you're a proud ukay-ukay addict like us, you'll be glad to know that there's literally a place called "Ukay-Ukay Paradise" along Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City.
Dubbed as one of the cheapest ukay-ukay markets in the metro, Ukay-Ukay Paradise is a shopping complex filled with secondhand shirts, blouses, jeans, shorts, jackets, shoes, bags—basically every single thing imaginable! Tops are typically priced at P10, while some blouses sell for P20. You could even score jackets for P50. There are also a lot of promos (like, three blouses for P100!) and you could even haggle for items when you buy in bulk. Frugal fashion fiends will have a field day!
If you're planning your trip already, here are some details you should know:
Ukay-Ukay Paradise is open daily. According to Andrelyn Mirasol of the blog Diary Two, Ukay-Ukay Paradise releases new items every Sunday, and stores open as early as 7 a.m. She also explains that most of the stuff comes from Korea and mall overruns.
The complex is located across Litex Market, and you can access it by taking the footbridge near Iglesia ni Cristo (Lokal ng Capitol).
Check out this Waze pin for directions. You can also pin "UCPB Batasan" or "Commonwealth Market" on the Grab app.
With a price range this low, we bet your budget is more than enough. Just remember that when you spot an item, act quickly before someone else gets a hold of it. Happy thrift-shopping!
