Ah, January. While the rest of us lament on the significantly decreased number of long weekends lined up this year, our baby sisters, cousins, and nieces (or at least their momagers) are losing their heads while preparing for the most highly anticipated event on every teenage girl’s social calendar: prom night. In the eyes of a pubescent lass, there's never enough time to find the perfect dress, accessories, and hair and makeup pegs to secure the crown all the other girls are vying for. Now, if only we had that kind of excitement in our dull adult lives.
This leads us to asking: If we could have it all over again, what would we wear to prom?
Thanks to the beautiful mind of Hedi Slimane, we might just have found the answer. Two words: slip dresses. Because while all our other classmates are treating prom as their second debut, we, on the other hand, have two simple goals: (1) have an excuse for our dates to lend us their coats, and (2) look like Kate Moss (with nipple tape, of course.)
As for the after-party, we’ll probably slip into something sheer and shorter worn with a very generic looking pair of dungarees (which our friends would think is from Forever 21 had they not seen the “Saint Laurent” label on the back.) The look is topped off with a cold, shiny, and plastic diamond tiara to assert our status as Queen. Hey, someone’s got to be it, right, Pia?
