The very controversial mix-up during the 2015 Miss Universe coronation night remained the talk of the town and trended on social media for days. But now that Pia Wurtzbach’s reign has officially begun, our queen can finally leave the past behind and put the issues to bed. One thing she’s made clear so far? The crown is hers—and hers alone.

Marking her first day on the job is a sit-down interview on Good Morning America where she was asked about her position on sharing the crown with Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez, who was left in tears seconds after she was wrongly named winner by host Steve Harvey.
Laughing off the suggestion, our very own Miss Philippines was firm in answering that she has no intention of sharing the title with her Colombian rival. She replied, "I think it will be a little bit difficult for two girls to share a crown."
However, she did confirm reaching out to Ariadna last Christmas to send her a birthday greeting and to ask how she’s doing. “I understand how she feels and I'm also concerned [about] her. I know that she's a beautiful young lady - very talented. I think she'll have a lot of other opportunities. She'll do very well, I'm sure,” said Pia.
In the same show, Pia also expressed her intentions to raise HIV awareness, aid in relief operations for calamity victims, and address cyberbullying throughout her reign. Play the video below to watch the entire interview:
In related news, Pia also appeared on LIVE! With Kelly and Michael yesterday, January 4, for her second interview on live television as the reigning Miss Universe. Wearing a bright orange Karen Millen frock and a matching pair of pointy-toed pumps, Pia finally had her long-deserved Miss Universe walk after being robbed of the precious winning moment during the coronation night.

Confidently beautiful, indeed! You keep making us proud, Pia.
