The Songbird wears Prada—and beaded Tom Fords and bejeweled stockings, too!
There was no doubt in our heads that Asia’s Songbird and returning Kapamilya artist Regine Velasquez is a fashion girl—and an intense shoe lover at that. She’s made her shoe addiction apparent last year when, weeks leading to her 30th anniversary concert, she brought more than 40 pairs of shoes as “options” for our September 2017 digital cover.
Among her shoe options at her last Preview cover were her favorite 20-year-old Louis Vuitton wedges, the Chanel boots she wore to her wedding to Ogie Alcasid, and a pair of spiked Christian Louboutin pumps that could pass for weapons of mass destruction.
As for her overall reputation as one of the country’s stylish celebrities, she sealed the deal with us when she joined the roster of Preview’s Best Dressed together with stepdaughter Leila Alcasid.
It does not come as a surprise to us then that Regine’s love for shoes would branch out beyond her own two feet in one way or another. (A collaboration with a brand seemed the most obvious venture.) But what we didn’t expect was a finsta (yes, we mean a "finstagram" account, which is short for "fake Instagram.")—very Gen Z, right?—that documents her shoefies, including those with never-before-seen pairs just waiting to debut on ABS-CBN's ASAP!
Regine recently uploaded a screencap of an IG account with the handle @fashionpicturest and bio saying, “Love shoes. Taken by me and my photographer @mommy_de from my iPhone.” Her photographer for this finsta, whose first post dates back to 2016, is actually her sister and road manager Diane Velasquez-Roque.
Just as we expected, her shoe collection does not disappoint! Here are the pairs we particularly love—and don’t mind adding to our own collections!
