Calling in all Record of Youth fans! Get your magnifying glasses ready for we are about to decipher Bench's new teaser for this year's ambassador. It seems like all signs point to second leading man, Byeon Woo Seok!
Bench founder Ben Chan, recently posted a mini teaser video in his personal Instagram with the caption: "Put it on record—our newest #GlobalBENCHSetter is here!"
Bench Body's official Insta also posted the same teaser and didn't give much away from the caption. "Get a closer look and little clue on who he could be," they wrote. But if you put two and two together, it seems that our hunch is on the right track.
The first clue is the caption and the teaser title itself: "On the record." Ben Chan also mentioned the word record. If memory serves us right, the most recent hit K-drama is "Record of Youth"! That narrows it down to two solid leads: Park Bo Gum and and Byeon Woo Seok.
And as we scrolled through their Insta, we stumbled upon a photo of Byeon Woo Seok that looks awfully familiar! Handsomely sitting down, the actor is wearing a black denim polo that looks like the same shirt worn in the Bench teaser video! The actor even captioned the post as "Shooting" in Hangul—another solid clue!
Byeon Woo Seok starred as Park Bo Gum's love rival in one of tvN's hit K-drama series of 2020, Record of Youth. He starred alongside Park So Dam, who playes as his love interest in the series.
If our comparisons of the clues are right, Byeon Woo Seok could definitely be the next Bench global ambassador of 2021 following Hyun Bin and Ji Chang Wook.
