Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo has flown to Hollywood for the Miss Universe pageant, and she wore the most gorgeous proudly Pinoy ensemble for her send-off!
Last April 9, Rabiya donned a collaboration between two local designers. She wore a pearl and crystal-embellished barong top by Chino Christopherson, which he aptly calls the Holy Mother of Pearls. Her stylists Rain Dagala and Em Millan paired this with wide leg trousers by Marc Rancy, finishing the look with jewelry from Luna by Drake Dustin.

According to Marc Rancy, the team wanted to achieve a chic look that preserves the traditional barong's cultural integrity. Chino Christopherson thinks it's an outfit that exudes confidence, which is exactly what Rabiya's disposition was before boarding her first international flight!
In an interview with reporter Dyan Castillejo, it was revealed that Rabiya left carrying eight suitcases filled with clothes from designers all over the country. Basically, we're definitely seeing more jaw-dropping outfits from her soon!

Rabiya arrived safe and sound in Los Angeles last April 10. She'll be staying there until the coronation night on May 16 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
