It's not just pretty frock.

Our very own Miss Universe Philippines Rabiya Mateo is currently in Hollywood to kick off her Miss Universe 2021 journey. Based on her chic airport ‘fit upon leaving Manila, we’re sure the beauty queen packed even more stellar outfits to make a distinctly Filipino fashion statement for the pageant.

In a recent Instagram post, flaunted an asymmetrical blue gown as she blew a kiss to the camera. The color is distinctly reminiscent of Pia Wurtzbach’s iconic Albert Andrada evening gown when she won Miss Universe in 2015.

The figure hugging bodice paired with an asymmetrical skirt creates an hourglass silhouette without being overtly sexy. Upon closer inspection, there’s even some subtle embellishment on her waist for added sparkle.

“The silhouette is a modern and sensual tale of a gladiator, with the exposed corsetry as armor. Rabiya exudes all the qualities of Mayari, her beauty is magnified because of her strong will to overcome life's obstacles with unyielding finesse,” Marc shares.

Mayari is also known for her strength, beauty, and bravery according to Sambal, Tagalog and Pampangan mythology. These headstrong characteristics, coupled with Rabiya’s intelligence and wit, definitely make this frock even more meaningful.

We can’t wait to see what else she’ll be wearing throughout the competition!
