Blacks, navies, and grays are easy to put together and all, but it can be quite monotonous in the long run. Here's where prints come in. If you really want to elevate your style, you can try mixing prints together for a more standout look.

You're probably apprehensive about it all... so, we've put together a few men and designers who've done it right. From playing safe to going all out, here are the best ways to pull off print on print in 2020. You'll master the tricky trend in no time!

1. Play It Safe with Dark Prints

Stripes and plaids are easy prints to start with, but if you're still unsure, you can pick two dark shades of the prints and see if they go together. A general rule of thumb is to pick colors that complement each other or you might risk looking like you've just run out of clothes to put on.

2. Follow a Color Scheme

Dressing in the same color head to toe is a good style move, and the same goes for mixing prints. Designer Emily Bode is one to follow when it comes to mixing prints. For her collection, she chose to pair a minimal shirt with lines along with a heavily printed pant. And, it works.

3. Subtle Is the Way to Go

It's safe to say that Timothée Chalamet has mastered red carpet dressing. He's pretty much worn it all—print on print included. Here, the actor wears a matching blazer and shirt with a crazy print. Usually, you'd catch him wear a matching pair of pants, but for this particular look, he decided to go with pants with a printed side stripe. He successfully did so by matching colors and going subtle for the second print.

We really don't recommend mixing two prints in a top, but if you want to see how to pull it off just look to Jared Leto. Now, sure, it may be too much, but keep in mind that he wore this to attend a Gucci show.
