Held at the Marriott Grand Ballroom at Newport World Resorts in Pasay City, the evening saw models from the Professional Models Association of the Philippines (PMAP) in custom ensembles by the honorees—pieces earlier seen on Anne Curtis for the September 2024 cover. The BFFD awardees were presented onstage with their respective muses. Each received a P100,000 grant in support of their work as a Filipino designer.

For Kelvin Morales, the nod felt unexpected. He admitted he was simply focused on the work, but being recognized for it mattered. “I’m just working, so I’m happy when people acknowledge my craft,” he explained in an interview, adding that he hopes the recognition encourages younger designers to embrace their own forms of storytelling.

Axel Que shared a similar mix of pride and resolve. Describing the award as a privilege, the Cebuana designer also acknowledged the pressure that comes with it. “Aside from the overwhelming happiness, there’s [also a sense of] tension. I need to beat myself today and be better tomorrow,” she said.

Renz Reyes, on the other hand, saw the honor as a full-circle moment. He recalled how Preview was the first platform to give him a chance at the start of his career. “They could have picked anyone else, but they picked me,” he said. “After all the hardships, this feels [like a] full circle.”

Antonina Amoncio expressed how the acknowledgment carries a sense of pride that she knows will endure. “To be recognized [as part of BFFD]—it’s something you’ll always be proud of, even years from now,” she reflected. "It's something that I'll definitely tell my grandkids about in the future."

Meanwhile, Jaggy Glarino admitted the recognition came as a surprise. “I’ve always thought I wasn’t the most palpable designer,” he mused. “So I appreciate the nod.”
