Piolo Pascual brought a taste of Filipino fashion to the Big Apple while attending the 25th New York Asian Film Festival, where his film Manila’s Finest was screened.
Directed by Raymond Red, the film stars Piolo as Homer Magtibay, a beat lieutenant navigating Manila in the years leading up to martial law. Following the screening, the actor was also set to join the film’s director for an introduction and Q&A at the IFC Center.

For his appearance, Piolo was styled by Ton Lao. The actor wore a look that spotlighted two independent Filipino brands: Peach Garde and Viktor.
Central to the ensemble was a crisp white modern barong top from Peach Garde, an Iloilo-based brand helmed by designer Peter Gagula. Cut with a relaxed, short-sleeved silhouette, the piece featured a pointed collar and a row of buttons down the front, giving the classic Filipino garment a more casual and polished feel. Delicate floral embroidery in shades of red and green was scattered across the chest, adding a subtle burst of color against the translucent white fabric.

Underneath, Piolo kept things simple with a white shirt. He paired it with custom-made trousers from Viktor, designed by founder Ino Caluza Jr., which came in a deep charcoal gray. With its wide-leg silhouette and fluid drape, the trousers gave the outfit a more contemporary feel while balancing out the lighter, more traditional character of the barong.

To finish, Piolo slipped into polished black leather shoes and added a pair of dark sunglasses. His swept-back hair and neatly groomed mustache further played into the look’s relaxed and slightly retro feel.
