Hate to say we told you so, but athleisure is it. And at the peak of this global trend, Beyonce has decided to launch the line we’ve all been waiting for, her very own sportswear apparel in collaboration with Topshop, Ivy Park. “When I’m working and rehearsing I live in my work out clothes but I didn’t feel there was an athletic brand that spoke to me,” Beyoncé says. Who better to launch her own athletic line than the woman whose curves we all work to achieve, right? “My goal is to push the boundaries of athletic wear and support and inspire women who understand that beauty is more than your physical appearance,” she says.
The 200-piece collection will be sold in 50 countries at 12 different retail chains come the 14th of April. We’re banking on the e-commerce shopping havens Selfridges, Topshop, and Net-a-porter to ship to our tropical shores, because we definitely want a piece of Queen Bey’s pie on this side of the world, too!
Prices will start at $30 and will cap out at $200, that’s around P1300 to P9200—not so bad as it’s pretty much the same going rate for athletic wear these days. The teaser, launched along with the announcement, is enough to get us saving. From bodysuits, headbands, sweatshirts, running shorts, tights, hoodies, hosiery, and even slip-ons emblazoned with the brand’s logo, Ivy Park has it all. Watch the video to see the pieces people are going crazy for and the significance of ‘park’ for the Queen.
