Netizens Are Recreating This Viral Chanel Look from Mathieu Blazy’s Debut Collection

Chanel’s opening look featured wardrobe staples you probably already have in your closet!

When Mathieu Blazy opened his first show for Chanel, he didn’t lead with tweed, pearls, or anything overtly archival. Instead, Look #1 walked out in something far more familiar: a beige sweater layered over a white T-shirt, paired with denim jeans.

The look, first worn on the runway by Bhavitha Mandava, who made history as the first Indian model to open a Chanel show, has since taken on a life of its own online. Across TikTok and Instagram, fashion fans are recreating the outfit with pieces already in their closets, proving that "Chanel chic" doesn’t always require a luxury shopping spree.

There’s something about that first look that feels recognizable in the best way. A beige knit, a white tee, a pair of blue jeans—it’s the kind of outfit most people wouldn’t think twice about. On the Chanel runway, that familiarity is part of the appeal. The look doesn’t ask you to imagine a different lifestyle or wardrobe but reframes what you already own and reminds you that good styling often starts with the basics.

Online, creators have been quick to point this out. From recreations styled “with pieces I already own” to captions declaring “Chanel at home,” the look is clearly well-loved because it is accessible, wearable, and refreshingly simple.

How Netizens Are Recreating Mathieu Blazy's Viral Chanel Look

Part of what pushed Chanel's opening look into full viral territory was seeing it move beyond the runway. Bryanboy was quick to step out in his version of the fit inspired by the house, interpreting Mathieu Blazy's intention for his debut collection. "This was not Chanel playing dress up. This was Chanel editing New York down to its most seductive truth: ease that is secretly very expensive, nonchalance that is actually engineered," he wrote on his Instagram caption.

"I do not usually wear a beige quarter zip. But look numero une lodged itself in my brain. The relatability was so chic I fell for it instantly. I could not wait until July next year to shop so I took out my Hermes baby cashmere version to satisfy the desire to relate for now," he adds.

Across TikTok and Instagram, netizens began recreating the look using what they already had: beige sweaters, white T-shirts pulled from daily rotation, and well-worn denim. Some leaned into the quarter-zip detail, others focused on proportions or layering, but the formula stayed the same.

The look doesn't demand a specific body type, lifestyle, or budget. It works across sizes, personal styles, and price points, which makes it all the more compelling for various audiences. Judging by the sheer number of recreations online, people aren’t simply admiring the outfit—they’re wearing it.

In many ways, that’s the real takeaway of Chanel's Look #1. It’s not about copying the outfit piece by piece. It’s about understanding the intention behind it: elevating the everyday, trusting simplicity, and letting confidence do the heavy lifting.
