In fun, playful patterns!

Soft tailoring, pops of color, pompoms, and frills. Harvic Dominguez reinvents the art of weave through contemporary and imaginative designs that dance between light-hearted fun and sartorial depth.

The designer takes locally woven fabrics to 2018 with this long vest ensemble. It’s soft silhouette, cut and constructed from a tweed-like material, and its contrasting black satin lapels exude a vibe that’s relaxed yet well thought-out. The details are one to account for with this look; the sheer chiffon skirt that peeks through the jacket sways with every move, and the multi-color knitted hat with frilly pompoms adds that whimsical note that is evident throughout the collection.

Harvic Dominguez exhibits the plethora of possibilities and designs that weaves could take through the well-rounded mix of looks he presented at the Panasonic Manila Fashion Festival 2018. The women’s pieces were a range that could go from days in the office to evening parties: a white dress in textured sheer fabric with contrast detailing; a cropped top and trouser set in a pattern of candy shades worn with a heavy knit coverup; a pencil skirt in a chevron style indigenous weave with a little fringe detail; and woven crop tops styled with tulle skirts and opaque net dresses. The men’s selection mirrored the versatility of its female counterpart: sharp suits in subtle grey and deep blue weaves; and some casual pieces including a boxy shirt in cobalt blue with yarn pompom embellishments, a track set in pink and black gingham, and a foliage printed jumpsuit.
