Days later, Mimi uploaded a vlog offering a closer look at her experience at the Tokyo press junket, along with the full interview featuring Meryl and Anne.

Meryl elaborated on her statement, emphasizing how the industry is deeply shaped by members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

She explained: “As some of our greatest designers, support staff, the whole world of fashion has been delivered to us in large part by that community, and we have nothing but gratitude and joy.”

Anne Hathaway also chimed in. Echoing Meryl’s sentiments, the actress highlighted the community’s role in sustaining the film’s cultural relevance throughout the years.

“I wouldn’t know if we’d have a sequel without the support of the LGBTQ community, who have embraced this film so much,” she mused. “So I just feel like so much is owed, and we’re so grateful.”
