Designer Mark Bumgarner has dressed his client and friend Sarah Lahbati for many a red carpet moment. (Her black beaded jumpsuit with its magnificent cape, as well as the modern Maria Clara she wore to two ABS-CBN Balls were both unforgettable numbers that landed the actress on our Best Dressed list for each occasion.) So it’s no surprise that she called on him to rush a dress for her intimate nuptials.
Her silk organza mid-length dress featured an off-the-shoulder neckline (a favored style if the aforementioned looks are anything to go by) and a sheer pleated skirt. No beads, no lace, just a lovely silhouette and a pretty play on texture.
“She called me and told me she needed a white dress,” Mark told Preview, sharing that the dress was made in just a day. “The dress was actually from my recent collection. I tweaked the design to fit Sarah, and to be appropriate for the occasion.”

Imagine having to choose a dress for such a big moment in so little time. “I have dressed Sarah many times, so we both kind of understand what works for her style and body,” Mark explained, adding “Also, because of the time constraints, we both had to agree on the dress’ understated design. I always want my pieces to be elegant and timeless.”
He certainly achieved just that. Once again, Sarah look positively radiant in one of his creations.
