The thrift shop–otherwise known as the ukay-ukay–is the closest thing to a fashion treasure trove. With only a couple of cash on hand, the ukay enthusiast can get their money’s worth (or more!) with gems they’ve simply unearthed from the holy racks. One famous example? None other than Maris Racal!
The singer-actress is one regular of the thrift shopping crowd, as exhibited by her recent OOTDs. In one Instagram Reel on the set of ASAP Natin 'To, the 25-year-old flaunted a fun summer piece to the tune of her track “Ate Sandali.”
Styled by Joanna Garcia, the thin-strapped number, splattered by pink, orange, and aqua-blue hues, fit like a glove on Maris–so it’s quite a surprise to know that the dress only cost her P50!
“Ate, sandali,” she captioned the post. “[My] 50-peso ukay-ukay dress that I found in Baguio made it to #ASAP!!”

This isn’t the only time her thrifted frocks had a moment in the spotlight. The all-around entertainer also opted for an ukay piece during her summer trip to New York City. Standing pretty in the Big Apple’s streets, Maris was clothed in a frilly white coquette number, tied together by a corset bodice.
“My ukay-ukay dress made it to NYC,” she wrote.

Crossing our fingers that we get gems like these on our next ukay trip!
