On June 22, the Society of Filipino Film Reviewers (SFFR) staged its 6th Pinoy Rebyu Awards at Ateneo de Manila University. The intimate ceremony gathered personalities from the local film community, including directors Antoinette Jadaone and Irene Emma Villamor, alongside actress Maris Racal, all of whom received recognition for their contributions to cinema.
The occasion marked a significant milestone for Maris, who took home her first Best Actress trophy. “My first Best Actress WIN,” she proudly shared on Instagram. The 28-year-old earned the honor for her performance in the 2024 coming-of-age sports drama Sunshine.
Maris Racal Wears a Modern Terno Look by Jot Losa
For the special event, Maris arrived in an intricately embroidered terno by Filipino designer Jot Losa. With her hair styled into a textured low bun and a swipe of red lipstick completing the look, she embodied elegance and grace as she donned the ensemble.
The entire look is from Jot’s 2025 collection, Pangako, presented during his 15th anniversary runway show. Originally seen as Look 26, the two-piece set is meticulously handcrafted from traditional Filipino piña callado, a pineapple-fiber textile characterized by delicate hand-drawn embroidery.
The design consists of a structured cropped button-down with long sleeves, highlighted by the terno’s signature butterfly sleeves and an inverted V-shaped hem. It comes with a matching high-waisted column skirt that falls neatly by the feet to create a streamlined profile.
