Doubling down on his fascination with the romantics, Philipp Tampus' Panasonic Manila Fashion Festival 2018 collection was essentially a nymph-inspired exhibition of intricate detailing on soft fabrics. "I love to play with lace and tulle," the designer tells Preview. "Soft and sheer fabrics. [Those are] always my favorite fabrics to play with and to design." Done in elongated silhouettes, his delicate body-hugging gowns are especially meant to emphasize a woman's shape—soft and curvy, and sexy yet elegant at the same time.

Philipp, however, did not limit himself to soft pastels. His collection manages to straddle the line between ideal romanticism and the dark romantics borne from the 18th to 19th centuries. This is demonstrated by his black and purple numbers, accentuated by ribbons, butterfly embellishments, and elaborate baroque style embroidery.
