Among Liza Soberano's upcoming projects is her voice acting debut in Forgotten Island, a Dreamworks Animation fronted by Filipino starpower. The movie, which is set to hit theaters in the latter half of this year, promises to further solidify the actress' place in the Hollywood circuit.
Ahead of the film, she made a splash at the 53rd Annie Awards—which is regarded by many as the "Oscars" of animated films, FYI—as one of the presenters. For the appearance, she turned heads in a stunning couture piece by Australian designer Paolo Sebastian.

Liza stepped onto the podium alongside directors Januel Mercado and Joel Crawford, who graciously helped lift her opera coat. The teal-toned piece, which dramatically draped over the actress’ elbows, was just one part of her statement-making look. The pièce de résistance was a mermaid gown adorned with intricate embroidery at every inch, topped with a bejeweled heart right at the center of the bodice.
The trio presented a series of accolades, culminating with Liza handing the Best Directing for a Feature Film trophy to KPop Demon Hunters’ Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Liza return to the Annies next year. In Forgotten Island, her voice joins the likes of Lea Salonga, Manny Jacinto, and H.E.R. in a screenplay inspired by Filipino mythology. Mark your calendars for its premiere in September 2026!

The Exact Dress Liza Soberano Wore
Liza's ensemble exuded pure romance—exactly what inspired it, according to the designer. Plucked from Paolo Sebastian's A Lover's Kiss collection, which debuted in the A/W 2025 season, the frock harked back to the Shakespearean figure of Juliet. Aiming to "[honor] Juliet's internal strength and sacrifice," the piece aligns with the collection's exploration of romantic ideals and literary references. It's a look that’s easily etched into memory for anyone who lays eyes on it!
