"What makes an It girl?" Solenn Heussaff-Bolzico poses the same question. "People started labeling us the It girls," she says. "We weren't so inclined to the title back then because why were we It and what does It mean?" With much pondering and musing, she arrives at a conclusion that being It means being more than just being the girl everyone looks up to. It means being a woman with a strong sense of who she is. "Maybe we were It because we were all in different sectors and we were all kind of succeeding in our own way and still supporting each other as one," she adds. "It's a good support system that we have."

These It girlsSolenn, Georgina Wilson-Burnand, Liz Uy, and Isabelle Daza-Semblat—equipped with different personal styles, created the perfect capsule wardrobe to illustrate their individualities and togetherness. It only made sense that the materialization of their personas be in the form of clothes, after all. "We always do things together and we have fun working together," George explains. "Belle and I talk about clothes a lot. Liz and I, too. And sometimes I force Solenn to wear some stuff so it was a natural partnership," she adds.

Liz reveals that, because of their common interest in clothes, they've often discussed how great it would be to have their own clothing brand. "Zalora approached us and asked if we wanna make a clothing line, which is something that we've never done," George also notes. "Zalora super trusted us and we said yes right away because they have such an efficient team. They deliver right away; they have great manufacturers." In addition, Liz admits, "I'm an online shopper and I also encourage people about it because it's so convenient and it will make your life easier. I mean, it's a one-stop shop and everything is there."

Granted with total creative control, the girls came up with a 60-piece collection for their first clothing line called the__edit. Belle best describes it as a thoughtful curation of your closet wherein you have "certain things that you just want there constantly." She further explains, "No matter how many trends [come and go], you still have these basics."

"I would say, if I were to edit pieces that I would want to share to other women, this would be it." - Liz

The girls thought with great consideration of what a perfect closet would look like. "We wanted to create an edit for the modern Filipina woman and we wanted to present these staples or essentials that in five years they will still want and love," Belle explains. Together, they streamlined a collection that was made to be universally flattering for modern Filipinas. "Obviously, all of us have totally different styles and we all have our go-to pieces, so we literally edited what we thought every woman should own," Solenn says, adding how they condensed their styles in pieces "that could be passed on to a friend." To which, Liz adds, "I would say, if I were to edit pieces that I would want to share with other women, this would be it."

It took the girls about a year to finish their first collection. All of them attributed their struggle mostly to aligning their hectic schedules and their utmost determination to perfect the capsule collection. "It took a while to develop, to finalize the color, the cut, and there were quite a few revisions before we were happy with it," Belle divulges. "Besides that, in terms of vision and of what we wanted to do, we all see eye to eye," George clarifies.

At the end of the day, the clothes should also resonate with who they are.

They had a unified goal that their clothes should complement all Filipinas. This included carefully choosing the highest quality of the fabrics like cotton, polyester, and rayon; making sure the collection is size-inclusive; selecting the most flattering color scheme, and finding silhouettes and cuts all of them would truly wear. At the end of the day, the clothes should also resonate with who they are.

The meticulous and careful inspection of their collection did pay off. The girls produced pieces that can be molded into anyone's aesthetic. Solenn explained that they put a lot of thought into each piece because they wanted "these pieces to metamorph" into the wearer's style, and not just duplicate theirs. The collection was meant for them to share their favorites with other girls and see how they could play around with the pieces.

The girls also reiterated that you'll be mistaken if you look at the collection and think you can pinpoint which style is theirs. "It’s really a collab among the four of us," Solenn says. "We all sat down and tried to narrow down each of our styles and how to make it work for one another. What would George wear that I would also wear; what would Liz wear that Belle would wear; and vice versa.”

Overall, you'll see the__edit as a collection filled with easy pieces that are versatile enough to match and complement your current style. They're timeless and sophisticated but still trendy and updated. the__edit also promises comfort above all. "The entire collection is wearable from day to night. So you can be really casual but if you dress it up you can really look like you’re going to a nice formal event," Solenn points out.

"Gone are the days when we'd make tiis with shoes that would kill us. We're all about the comfort and we like shoes that can take you from day to night, [the kind that] you can wear and you'd always feel put together."

The girls weren't kidding when they said their collection has everything you need. They even produced shoes to complete the look. "I like comfy shoes," George shares. Their hard work officially comes into fruition as the__edit collection goes live on Zalora—the most rewarding part of their special project, they say. It will be available starting October 11. "Hopefully when we present it to everyone, they will love it and they will feel confident in it," Belle says. To which, Liz and Solenn add that they are most excited to see how women would style it on their own. George concludes, "Everything is pretty much affordable and they're good investment pieces that you won't regret purchasing. You'll love them forever."
